University Grants Commission
(Notice) Regarding Result of UGC-NET June 2013
The University Grants Commission conducted National Eligibility Test on 30th
June, 2013. The result of the same was declared on 21st October, 2013.
Subsequent to declaration of result of UGC-NET June 2013, several candidates
complained that they have arbitrarily been disqualified under the category
“Unfair Means”. The instructions/Guidelines to the candidates for NET stipulate
- Each question has four alternative responses marked as A, B, C, D. You
have to darken the oval with Blue/Black ball point pen only.
- Once marked, no change in the answer is allowed in the OMR Sheet. More
than one response is not permitted.
- Use of white fluid is prohibited.
Thus, all such candidates who have not followed the above
instructions/guidelines of UGC and have changed their responses by scratching or
using white fluidwere kept under the category of “Unfair Means” and their
result was not processed and hence they were declared disqualified.
However, in view of large number of students representing that
disqualification clause was not specifically mentioned in the
guidelines/instructions, it has now been decided to process such result by
deducting the marks of those responses which were changed by scratching or using
white fluid. This decision will beapplicable only to June 2013 exam. However, in
future NET examinations the candidates are liable to be disqualified in case
response(s) is/are changed by scratching or using white fluid. Necessary
instructions to this effect will be notified separately.
